Why Flavored Water Saved My Life (Seriously)

* Whrrl of the Week:

How much water do you drink during the day? Despite the 8 glasses a day recommendation, I could honestly go all day without drinking water and never even notice (it’s sick, I know). Even though I’m a life long health nut (and nut in general), drinking water is something that doesn’t come naturally to me….even if chugging coffee feels like second nature. The only way that I can get myself to hydrate is with usage of tasty or bubbly water alternatives otherwise known as flavored water.

I buy enough flavored water to keep the water business going (if it needed my help). Every time my husband steals one of my flavored waters I find myself exclaiming: “What are you doing? You drink regular water! Those are keeping me alive!” (By the way, did I mention I’m dramatic?) Personally, I prefer the large bottles of flavored water because they last longer but are super cheap (Clear American is only 64¢ at Walmart). Now if I could just learn to share, it’d be a brand new start to the year…

    Great story. You nailed it about forgetting to drink and having to trick yourself. I totally forget to drink and then wonder why I feel crumby. Thanks for the awesome blog post!

    I used to drink the flavored water like it was going out of style! I loved the variety of flavors, and like you, the Walmart ones had more in them, and cost way less than most, so those are what I bought!

    I still don’t drink enough water, unless I drink hot tea throughout the day! 🙂

    I am the same way, I would try the flavored waters but it would only work so long and then I moved to tea. Currently I’m doing just water, which is really hard. How many a day do you drink?

  4. The most I can get myself to drink is one big bottle a day (32 oz?). I usually drink 1/2 in a glass in the morning with some vitamin powder mixed in, and the rest in bits throughout the day. But it’s definitely an effort!
