If you could freeze time, would you? Unfortunately, most moms in today’s day and age see hell bent on stopping time (or turning back the clock), instead of simply looking like the best (most well rested) version of themselves possible. We wish we all could embrace our skin for what it really is: laugh lines from our children’s school plays, wrinkles for overcoming the tragedies in our lives, and imperfection for what we really are…perfectly imperfect!
Yes, we all want to look younger, but do we really need to turn to surgeries, injections and procedures to feel better about ourselves? We had some of the Real Momma panel (at many different ages and stages in their lives) recommend the products that make them feel like the most beautiful, rested and glowing version of themselves (and not the 16 year old everyone is trying to be). Let’s stop trying to “turn back the clock” (even if we enjoy being asked for I.D. once in awhile), and make our current clock look as beautiful as possible!
* Origins A Perfect World: “I can’t say enough about Origin’s A Perfect World Antioxidant moisturizer with white tea. I am 66 years old, with the damaged skin that comes from years of living in Florida. This A Perfect World cream is a wonderful, nourishing bit of heaven, (and frankly, I only wish it were possible to smear it over my whole body!) It is so light and soft, that I find myself forcing all of my (five) children to try it (whether they want to or not). I don’t usually spend a lot on skincare (ok, I spend nothing on skincare), and this pricetag is definitely a splurge for me ($37), but so far… I think I’ll be pinching pennies to save up for my next jar!”
* Relastin Skin Revitalizer: “The Relastin Skin Revitalizer has a smooth and creamy feel (which is great for my sensitive, often irritated skin. Since I’m in my 40’s (must I really divulge the exact number?), I need something that is hydrating without being oily and sticky. This product helped me feel refreshed and hydrated, but it never clogged my pores. Even better, I found that if I apply the leftover amount to the tops of my hands and my neck, I can prevent wrinkles in those areas too!”
* Vichy Liftactiv Retinol HA Eyes: “If the eyes are the window to the soul, sometimes I worry that mine are telling a much sleepier, more stressed out story than intended. I have admittedly never bothered with eye creams (who has the money or time?), but now I’m getting older, I know I am long overdue in using an anti-aging cream for my face. Liftactiv Retinol eyes has a nifty applicator (making it super easy to apply no matter how tired I am), and feels very good on the skin. I would need to use it for a longer period to tell if it helps diminish wrinkles, but I already feel like my eye makeup looks less “crinkly” (that’s a technical term) and my face seems to look less puffy in the morning.”
* Sound Off: Are you open to having injections or surgeries when you’re older? (Be honest…we won’t judge!)
