Smooth, Soft Skin Could Only Be A Serum Away…

Celeb moms Penelope Cruz and Alicia Keys have smooth, soft skin…

* Beauty Review Fest of the Week:

Who is in the mood for a big dose of beauty review? Let’s dig right in to some skincare chat with result dish, ingredient analytics, and one too many uses of the word “potent” and “anti-aging”….

* If You Want Anti-Aging For Sensitive Skin: Origins Plantscription

1 month ago I told you about the new Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Serum (details here), and I’ve been using it ever since. Personally, I have more serums and creams than I know what to do with, and it’s kind of becoming an addiction. If I could heal the worlds problems with serums (Haiti, Pakistan, another Fast and Furious movie), I would be the next Mother Theresa (with really good skin). And even though I can’t seem to refrain from using double parenthesis in a singular sentence, I am flawless when it comes to sticking with serum regimens. Fortunately, my twice-daily applications were totally worth it once trying Origins Plantscription, and my skin has looked noticeably smoother within 30 days. I could tell a difference even just by touching my face night (not that I lay around caressing my face of anything), and even more so in the subtle “luminescence” my complexion developed over time. If you dream of smooth, glowing, rejuvenated skin that’s never irritated, this product definitely does the trick!

* If You Want Prescription Worthy Results: Immunocologie Treatment Creme

Immunocologie takes their skincare seriously, and they take your results even more serious. Based on Biofirm Science that taps into our actual immune system to work, their products repair your skin from the inside out (in other words, it goes way over my head). But even though I’m not an expert on science or anything to do with numbers, I am an expert on judging a product by it’s cover: and this one is not messing around. Housed in a sleek, chic black casing, the Treatment Cream looks like a small piece of NASA has landed in your bathroom (and the ingredients match that sentiment). Even if you’re Pro-PETA, don’t be alarmed by additives like Elk Antler Velvet (Elks naturally shed this part of their antlers anyways), or Marine Phytoplankton. Both ingredients stimulate cell renewal and literally regenerate skin from the ground up, so you’ll see softer, more youthful results soon.

* If You Want To Fight PMS: Care Free Acti-Fresh Essentials

The topic of panti-liners doesn’t necessarily fall under beauty, but it isn’t exactly high fashion either. But in my opinion, nothing makes me feel less beautiful than that “time of the month”. For so many of us, every day activities (exercise, sitting, laughing, sneezing) become infomercials for why it’s not always fun to be a woman. If you haven’t done the mad-dash-to-the-bathroom or the uncomfortable-sitting-stance (trying not to jump, bounce or move to much), you’re one lucky lady. For the rest of us, Aunt Flo is finicky, she stays too long and she doesn’t clean up after herself. As gross as it can be to talk about, I am a big fan of Care Free because they keep me clean in those weird “in between” moments, but don’t make me feel like I’m wearing a diaper. And since over 50% of the world population deals with this issue, I think we should stop being embarrassed… and be honest about what works and what doesn’t. (So for the rare Dad who might be reading this: man up and power on… your wife deserves the empathy!) Yet thankfully, Care Free always has my back even when no one else does, and for that I am thankful.

* If You Want To Win a Giveaway: Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Kit ($138 Value)

I am giving away THREE Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Kit’s this month! Our first giveaway is already over (congrats to the winner), but you still have plenty of chances to win. And since all you have to do is comment, it’s totally worth the effort. The kit was created to fight the worst signs of aging (sagging, bagging and looking-like-a-hag-ing), by using potent ingredients that target frown lines, crows feet and forehead ripples. My personal favorite product is the PTR Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads because they slough away dead skin cells so you look like you’re fresh from the spa (even if you only visit spas in your dreams)…

i’ve tried staying out of the sun and forgetting to use self tanner. I looked like the most hard core vampire anyone has ever seen.

I tried one of those facial exerciser things. Sheesh!!!

  3. Angela says:

I used the Nu-face that feels like your given your skin mini electricutions.

  4. Christina R says:

I used to use the “Fango” mud by Borghese and it is no fangtastic! Instead, it is green, messy and leaves dry patches. I need something for my face that exfoliates that rejuvenates the outer skin layer!

  5. Melanie says:

I started to panic about wrinkles and refused to wear makeup for a while because I thought it was making them much worse much faster. Then I realized I was still going to get wrinkles anyway, so I might as well not look like the living dead while living life. 🙂

  6. Sylvia says:

I have big pores and lots of peach fuss on my face with the wonderful lines that say hey your over 50. I tried to mix vaseline and baby oil together thinking it would keep my skin soft that was a big mistake especially for my pillow case.

craziest thing I’ve ever done? Consider plastic surgery…..

  8. Kari says:

I’ve tried egg whites on my skin as an anti-wrinkle mask. It worked. For the period of time the nastiness was drying on my skin.
