“Do you remember the 90’s song “The King of Wishful Thinking”? Well, when it comes to workout videos, I have been crowned the new queen. I would wander Target and guess at which one would be best, only to be sorely disappointed. Even worse, I may or may not have ordered workout videos from infomercials (don’t judge me). This past month, however, I have turned in my crown…

So, who’s my new Knight-in-Shining-Armor? Sir Streaming Netflix (how old is this metaphor getting?) Netflix, the popular video-rental-by-mail, has now started digital streaming to either your tivo or your laptop. Which is great because you don’t have to wait to download last season’s Dexter. So (for roughly $10 a month) you not only get unlimited awesome movies by mail, but a selection of instant ones.

What does this have to do with working out, you ask?
Netflix not only has TV show, movies, cartoons, and documentaries, but a selection of workout videos (instantly yours for as long as you like!) The best part is if you download it, and it blows…just delete it from your queue and choose another to try (no money or time will be lost!) The worst part of the whole deal is that now you do not have an excuse to not get your work out on! Here are my top three Yoga inspired picks! (Also check out the cardio and pilates sections!)

1. Crunch Yoga Momma: A 40 min workout perfect for pre- or post-natal women (or anyone who needs slight modifications) to strengthen the body ad the mind-body connection!

2. Candlelight Yoga with Sarah Ivanhoe: Super calming and stretching. The perfect thing for you to do whilst your child has his own nap.

3. Hot Male Yoga: This is all kitsch and totally hilarious! Check it out (since, essentially, it IS free) and give your self a good ab workout, because laughing burns lots of calories too!”
