Kelly Ripa Ruffled Skirt — Celeb Momma Style

Whether you’re finally going on a date with your honey or are attending a cocktail event, try livening up your fancy options with ruffle accents and sophisticated flare (like mom Kelly Ripa). We love the femininity of this look (who doesn’t adore a pencil skirt?) and the playful accessories (big sunglasses and bigger bag).

Recreate this outfit by choosing a knee-length skirt that fits your body perfectly (there should be no extra lumps, bumps or pantie-lines visible). Accentuate an hour-glass figure (and enjoy your curves) by adding a medium-width belt to the smallest part of your waist, or hide your bottom half by choosing an A-line style. It’s important to pick the most flattering top for your figure, so take time to access which necklines make you feel trim (halter or spaghetti straps are generally forgiving) and pick supportive undergarments (your bra should be invisible).

If you don’t want to over-accentuate your post-partum waist line, try choosing a top with a blousey effect (instead of a skin tight appearance), and have fun with accessories. Don’t be afraid to play with color (like Kelly’s navy, black and brown pairings) or layer necklaces for a girly feel!

Get Her Skirt: Choose ruffles that flatter your shape (like the black Elastic Ruffle Tier Skirt from Forever 21, $15.80) or go for a flowing A-line (to hide hips and thighs).

Get Her Top: Check out the Women’s Pleated-Trim Top from Old Navy, which can hide your waist-line like a blouse, be pulled tight, or flatter shoulders with a sweeping neckline ($12.50).

Get Her Shoes: Skip the usual mommy flats or sandals, and go for fun heels for a night out on the town. We love daring, strappy heels like the Paulina Gladiator Sandal from Target ($26, shown above).

* What do you think of this look… would you wear this outfit?
