Do you want to master the glamorous, sultry look of old Hollywood movie stars? We took inspiration from Marilyn, in an attempt to create a smoldering style that is still suitable for the PTA or park. So, how can you get an appropriate (but still gorgeous) look in just a few minutes? Watch this video (or try these products!)
How To Get The Look:
*Â Sigma Makeup Professional Brushes Complete Kit ($69 or $89 with a brush roll)
This kit includes 12 brushes (everything you need to apply makeup to your face, lips, and eyes). It has a Powder Brush (with natural bristles to apply powder to your face and body), a Foundation Brush (great for applying liquid foundation or moisturizers), a Duo Fibre Brush (allows you to get that airbrushed finish), and even a Large Angled Countour Brush (great for blush or shading). But that’s not all! It also has a Concealer Brush (ideal for precise application on under eye circles or pimples), Medium Angled Shading Brush (wonderful for dark and light shades on your eyelids), a Small Angle Brush (use to fill in eyebrows or apple eyeliner), and the Large Shader Brush (flat brush that’s awesome for cream eye shadows or primers). And last but not least, the handy Pencil Brush and Tapered Blending Brush can create a flawless smoky eye, while the Eyeliner Brush and Eye Shading Brush help you refine the look even more. Who knew there were so many ways to seamlessly apply your makeup?
What better way to create an Old Hollywood look, than to steal inspiration from some of new Hollywood’s finest! The gorgeous, rich shades in L’oreal’s new Star Collection is personally hand picked by celebrities like Diane Keaton, Beyonce or Kate Bosworth. Personally, we love the “Diane’s Tubberose” shade shown in this video, but colors vary from a deep, bold plum or bright, crisp red (all ideal for perfecting the right lip shade for your movie star look).
And I made the mistake of applying this shade for fun before going to bed (just to try it out), not realizing that it won’t just wipe off a moment later. L’oreal’s long lasting lip colors aren’t playing around. This shade would have taken me through a day of coffee, cocktails (and hopefully more coffee and cocktails), without fading in the slightest. It truly was so impressively infallible, that I wanted to show it to everyone I know!
