* Exclusive Event of the Week:
When was the last time you went out for a night on the town with your girlfriends? If you’re anything like me, the answer is harder to come by than Cookie Monster tackling a diet. And if that Sesame Street metaphor wasn’t enough proof I need some time with adults, my calendar definitely is. Since all up coming events involve the words “play group”, “educational” or “story time”, I think it’s about time for some time of my own.
Luckily, I’m co-hosting a fabulous Stylish Momma event this Friday (yes, that’s today) in Washington DC. My amazingly talented co-host Tiffani (from Accidentally Chic) will be coaching moms on spring styles at the Lettie Gooch Boutique from 7 – 9 PM (while I imbibe in as much drinks, dessert and adult conversation as possible). The tickets are completely free and the event is definitely one-of-a-kind, so even if you’re not in the DC area, please tell your friends, family and anyone who might be interested (they won’t regret it). All they have to do is sign up fast on the Event Brite website, because only 30 women will be permitted.
And since there is no such thing as a fab event without fab sponsors, check out two of my favorite brands spoiling Stylish Mommas:
* Lierac Diopticalm Soothing Balm: Lierac is like a good book in my family of women: it travels fast, it gets around and everyone is trying to steal it from one another. My Mother is completely hooked on the Concentrate MesoLift Cream (this from a woman who normally could case less), and my sisters adore the Comfort Peel to prevent wrinkles, breakouts and uneven skin tone. Even though I’m glad that the fellow mothers in my family appreciate Lierac as much as I do (in addition to good literature), it can definitely be a negative thing. Um…stealing my products? Not so good. But thankfully there will be plenty of Lierac to go around at the Stylish Momma event, most notably their Lierac Diopticalm Soothing Balm for eyelids which soothes inflamed, puffy and tired eyes. And yes, this pretty much describes all of exhausted moms!
* Phyto Phytocitrus Restructuring Shampoo: I went through a Jessica Simpson phase back in her Newlywed days, where I genuinely wanted to be her. I wore more velour track suits, giant hoop earrings and Ugg boots than humanly possible, but still could never get the look of her trademark shiny waves. After reading that she used conditioning masks and stylers from Phyto Hair Care, I tried them for myself and never looked back. Even though a lot has changed since then (including my hair after two bouts of pregnancy-induced hormonal changes and a lot less bleach), Phyto still gives me silky, shiny results that are always easy to style. One of their star products is the PhytoCitrus Restructuring Shampoo which keeps colored hair fresh, vibrant and full of live weeks after dying. Could we ask for anything more?
