Get Inspired By Katherine Heigl and Sarah Jessica Parker’s Soft, Spring Makeup: Beauty Product Roundup

Soft blush and bright pops of color are big for spring (even for moms Katherine Heigl and Sarah Jessica Parker)…

Do you love the vibrant, blossoming shades of spring makeup, but are worried you’ll look like a giant painted egg? We had Real Momma makeup obsessives Nadia and Tara test out some of the latest colorful shades, and report back on what worked for them….

What Nadia Says About Eye Shadows:

“Purples, Greens, and Pinks oh my! Spring 2010 eye trends is all about individuality ladies. Think bright, bold and confident. Anything goes!! Throw on a skirt, top and sandals; pull your hair back with a nice and clean ponytail and grab those make-up brushes!! Think of your eyes as an extra accessory and let the world know how you feel whether it’s blue (because the heels you’ve been eying have sold out), pink (because you are feeling flirtatious and sexy) or pale green (because you’ve decided to start a compost pile in the backyard).

Colors can express your inner emotions, so let those feelings shine through.
Check out Stila’s award winning eye shadows. They have some of the hippest,trend-setting shades in mattes and shimmers. Their shadows can be used wet or dry. Simply dampen your brush and sweep over your lid for added color intesity and shimmer. Don’t forget to blend, blend, blend! Always use a circular brush motion. Stila shadows also make great liners. Dampen the end of an eyeliner brush, sweep across the shadow and then paint liner color onto your lash line! Think outside the box, no browns or blacks, try teals, plums and coppers.”

What Tara Says About Blush:

“I love that Purple Lab products bill themselves as “Double Duty Beauty”, because as a busy mom I need products that multi-task! I tried Cheek Implants in Six Inch Heels, a very peachy-pink shade. Upon application, I can’t say that I saw my cheekbones magically morph into those of a supermodel, but my skin did have a nice flush. A little bit of this product goes a long way, so apply sparingly to avoid the clown look. I am very, very fair and this shade worked on me, but I think darker skin tones would want to try a different shade. I love pairing Cheek Implants with a sheer tinted moisturizer to achieve a healthy glow.”
