Elissa is a writer reaching out to moms whose teenaged kids tend to text, “What’s for dinner?†instead of walking into the kitchen to ask. As the mom of a vegetarian daughter who eats salad sparingly and chocolate voraciously, Elissa is forever hunting for nutritionally sound, budget conscious recipes, and healthy restaurant selections with teen appeal.
Add her carnivorous husband into the family mix, and Elissa faces everyday meal prep that requires a ridiculous number of bowls, pans and spatulas to keep her family’s separate tastes separate. But it’s worth the effort whenever her teenager texts, “Good tacos, mom.â€
Elissa is an occupational therapist by profession and a writer by choice. Her essays and feature articles have appeared in Parents and Kids, The Sharon Advocate and The Boston Globe Magazine. She is a recent graduate of the certificate program in publishing at Boston University.
