“On Friday, November 6th, 2009, I was blessed with the opportunity to attend an official launch party for CastReach.com at “The Gates” in NYC.For those unfamiliar with this site, CastReach.com is an online networking community– created by three guys, Tom, Luke and Don– for actors, models, photographers, filmmakers, composers, makeup artists, and comedians. What makes this site different from others, is its creativeness that helps casting directors and photographers find fresh, new talent and faces, from all over the world (not just by interacting on the computer, but also by planning events where people alike can network and meet face-to-face). CastReach.com holds these special events in five countries: Australia, France, U.K., Canada, and the United States.

 I had the privilege to speak with two people about the event. Chelsea, a young woman in her early twenties, is a dancer who came to network with directors, actors, and the latter. Chelsea isn’t just a dancer, but a young, chic woman with a great sense of fashion. When asked what one item she must have when she goes out or attends any special event, she replied, “red lipstick”. Such a great way to pull the outfit together!  Another person I met was a young man, named Thomas Wesson. Thomas lives in NYC and is pursuing an acting career. He not only works hard at attending auditions and interviews with clients, but also is trying his best to become “seen” for the modeling world.

 This event helped give me an eye to meet new people, whether photographers, models, or producers, and connect with them on a more personal level.I, too, am a model who is looking to build my portfolio and network with more people, and I am grateful I was given this opportunity to share with others about it and learn for myself, about CastReach.com.”
