Refresh Your Style With A Little (Big) Black Purse
* Makeover Momma TV Recap of the Week:
Have you ever seen a live webisode and Twitter party combined? Makeover Momma TV broke new grounds this week by combining the two (equaling tons of giveaways, lots of chat and a unique live show). Jump in on the party by watching the footage above, or check out my favorite details below…
To re-watch any of the videos shown on Makeover Momma TV, just view the episode (above) or access on the  Makeover Momma You Tube page.
Product of the Week:Â Jackie Satchel
I love my Christina Satchel. I love it because it gets me noticed (I’m not above praise from strangers), helps me feel put together (a rarity when I’m covered head to toe in melted crayons and apple sauce), and helps me look polished no matter what I wear. My purse has gone with me to Las Vegas on business, to fancy meetings where I pretend to be a grown up, and even to the streets of New York during Fashion Week. So why do I need a new purse from Shop Suey Boutique? Because brown doesn’t go with everything.
Even though I love mixing various shades of brown and black together (take that old fashioned wardrobe rules), sometimes a girl just wants a sleek, classic black purse. But since there are a vastitude of black purses in the world, finding the right one can be tricky. Since I’ve never been unhappy with a Shop Suey item, I decided to go for the Jackie Satchel. It has tons of pockets for my small arsenal of mommy items (cell phone, credit cards, Elmo books), is only $58 (chump change in the world of clutches), but doesn’t blend in with all the other noir bags available. And if you already have a black purse? It comes in a variety of other colors too, including camel, beige, gray and (my personal favorite) red… who can argue with that?
* Speak Up: Which color of the Jackie Satchel would YOU choose?

If You Need To Choose A Resolution, Choose Yourself
* Makeover Momma TV Recap of the Week:
How can you get your entire family fit in 2011? Even if no one in your clan has a problem with their weight, finding ways to stay active and have fun is extremely important throughout life. This week’s Makeover Momma TV episode focused on simple ways to exercise more, balance your diet and stop getting sucked in to the celebrity “skinny” trend.

Product of the Week: Your Best Face Skincare
If there is one thing I love in life, it’s trying products before they’ve even hit shelves. Your Best Face has been one of my favorite brands for awhile, but they’re latest launches (Antioxidants Concentrate, Balance and Hydrate B) are designed to give you more for your money. Here is a sneak peek at what makes them so cool:
*Â Balance: If I could start using any new product these days it would be this one. It helps calm irritated skin, decrease excess oil and give the appearance of a silky smooth, matte complexion. Best of all, it can be used by itself or layered with other products (it’s friends with everyone).
* Antioxidants Concentrate: Everyone knows their face needs antioxidants (or so say the professionals), but they can be a pain in the pomegranate to find. This product can be mixed with anything you use: it’s like a fabulous cocktail that enhances your favorite sunscreens and serums with antioxidants (giving better, faster results).
* Hydrate B Concentrate: Hydrate B is the like the perfect “wingman” for your face. It can be used in congruence with all other potent serums to make your standard products more effective, boost the benefits of anti-aging potions and support your skin overall.
Exclusive Giveaway: American Cancer Society “Fit Kit”
So many of us have been touched by cancer in our lives, and will never be the same. Luckily you can fight back by joining the American Cancer Society in their “New Year, Choose You” movement (part of their successful “Choose You” campaign). They’re encouraging women worldwide to pledge a new healthy habit going into 2011 (after all, every healthy step we take forward is one step farther away from cancer). And even though I gave away a “fit kit” on Makeover Momma TV last night, you can still score one today. Here’s how….
* Go to the Choose You website and quickly pledge what healthy action you choose to do this year.
* Comment below letting me know your idea.
That’s it! Pledge to be healthier and better than ever this year, and hopefully we can all fight cancer together in the future.
Makeover Momma TV “TV Show”: Makeover Your Life In The New Year
Wish Carson Kresley lived in your closet? Oprah Winfrey was on your speed dial? George Clooney was your husband? The New Year can be filled with a great many wishes and resolutions, but being a mother can change our focus and goals entirely throughout the years. This latest episode of the MMTV TV Show is all about setting realistic goals for ourselves, and creating a fresh start for January.
* Speak Up: What is YOUR New Year’s resolution this year?

Inside Tips For Raising A Child With Special Needs
The footage for last night’s show begins a few minutes in… so feel free to click ahead!
* The Makeover Momma TV Recap:
How many of us have a child with special needs? The goal of this week’s Makeover Momma TV show was not only to start a dialogue about our struggles and hardships as parents of kids of every level, but also to open up about any issue hitting mothers today. Whether too much pressure on our weight (pushing some women to eating disorders) or too little support for our children with unique difficulties….it’s time to open up and get honest. You ready?

Exclusive Giveaway: SwimSpot.com
Does the mere sound of the word “women’s swimwear” make you cower in fear? This is how so many of us feel as bikini season approaches (or in my case, “one piece, floppy hat and giant cover up” season), because designer swimwear has a way of making us all feel insecure. Luckily, 2011 is the perfect year to turn your bathingsuit fears around, and learn how to dress your body smarter. Enter Swimspot.com: the best place to mix and match your favorite swimsuit pieces with the Bikini Builder, and even get personal advice from body flattering experts.
And if you worry about chasing after your children on the beach in a teeny-tiny, uncomfortable suit, it’s time you learn about Next By Athena. It’s a new line of bathing-suits that mixes active wear with swimwear (could it be any more perfect for moms?) If I could pick two suits to flatter my own body this summer, it would have to be the Racerback Tankini or the Good Karma Tankini. What about you?
Products of the Week:
1. Shapercise Firm Control Body Shaper
This ain’t your Momma’s shape-wear. Shapercise Firm Control Body Shaper is not only intended to make you look slimmer and trimmer in your clothing, but it actually helps you burn more calories simply by wearing it. Using gentle resistance technology, it provides additional leg toning (and yes, fat burning) underneath your outfits…it’s the perfect way to multitask!
2. Pre-Fenz Alcohol Free Hand Sanitizer
Alcohol can be good for a lot of things (a “girl’s night out” or the terrible two’s, for example) but it’s not good in your hand sanitizer. Strong ingredients can strip your hands of essential moisture leaving your mitts dry and cracked. Thankfully, Pre-Fenz provides a popular solution to the problem with an alcohol-free formula that leaves your hands silky smooth. And since you know your toddler is going to stick their hand in their mouth at some point during the day, it also protects kids from ingesting toxic ingredient.
Now if you’re the resident germo-phobe mom (you know who you are), you can take your tissue-covered hand off of the door knob and take a deep breath. Pre-fenze kills bacteria and viruses for 24 hours with each application (lasting through 10 hand washings), and it sprays on easily for squirmy kids. Now isn’t that cool? Plus, you can get it in the Makeover Momma shop with one click of a button…it’s only $10!
Makeover Momma TV “TV Show”: Raising A Child With Special Needs
What is the best way to raise a child with special needs? This is the first question asked in this week’s episode of the MMTV TV Show (a docu-style look at issues in motherhood today), and it’s one of many issues that parents deal with constantly. As the mother of a hearing impaired child, I have my own set of needs to consider, and am constantly worry about what I’m doing “wrong”. What suggestions do you have on this topic? Speak up and let’s start chatting!
