Thandie Newton Nude Makeup — Beauty Trends in Motherhood

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

    Makeover Momma™ Rating: A+

    Why:

Going nude in the summertime may seem synonymous with skinny dipping (or one too many post-partum cocktails), but it can also refer to the latest beauty trend: nude makeup. Flesh toned shades are perfect for busy fashionistas and stressed-out mommas, because it takes minimal upkeep to pull this look off.

Try creating a “barely there” makeup look (like simplistic momma Thandie Newton, above) by choosing the perfect foundation for your skin tone. Choose a shade slightly darker than your natural color to create a soft glow in the summer, or pick a foundation with light reflecting particles to keep the face from falling flat (like Rimmel Recover Foundation). Keep lips simple and natural with a long-lasting, soft stain (such as Cover Girl Lipstain in “Flirty Nude” or “Cinnamon Smile”), and add a small amount of sheen to cheekbones and eyelids with a light bronzing powder (try super affordable N.Y.C. Sun-Sational Mineral Brush-On Bronzer). If you simply can’t leave the house without a little mascara, try something light and natural like Revlon’s Beyond Natural Waterproof Mascara (perfect for the beach, pool parties or whatever else summer throws your way).
